Matthew McConaughey Returns for Another Round of Strange Spots for Lincoln

Matthew McConaughey's oddly philosophical and rambling Lincoln spots were certainly some of the most talked-about (and parodied) ads of 2014. And now there's even more to mock or meditate on.

In two new ads, which will premiere on New Years Day during college football, McConaughey is bearded but otherwise still in similar form. He spends one ad contemplating balance in life, while another is filled with little more than the actor's silence and the patter of rain.

Directed again by filmmaker Nicolas Winding Refn, the ads are more McConaughey than Rust Cohle but still have little oddball nuggets of wisdom—sentiments that, while they do happen to make sense, still seem nonsensical because of McConaughey's delivery.

"It's not about hugging trees. It's not about being wasteful either," McConaughey almost croons about the MKZ Hybrid. "You have to find that balance. By taking care of yourself, it takes care of more than yourself."
