Here's today's matchup of contrasting political ads, both released yesterday: The end of the world vs. Lena Dunham sex jokes. In the Republican corner, the Super PAC called Winning Our Future offers a theatrical ode to explosions, angry mobs, blackouts and other forms of mayhem, because terrorist-zombie-virus-apocalypse thrillers have singularly fear-mongering filmmaking techniques that are just too good for political operatives not to steal (and also because if President Obama is elected, the future will lose so hard, duh). In the Democratic corner, the Obama campaign has the creator of HBO's Girls and the voice of a generation riffing out double entendres about voting for "your first time," because ha ha, and also, millennial girls, the president is hot, and he really gets you and cares about you, and the other guy's just an asshole who uses too much hair gel and just wants to get into your pants, I mean the White House. Which spot is funnier? You decide.
